What this covers

This policy describes what data the World News website (worldnews.bet) and application (app.worldnews.bet) collect, why, and what happens to it. The short version: we collect only what the product needs to work, we don't sell it, and you can ask us to delete it.

What we collect

  • Contact form. The contact details and message you submit are delivered to our team so we can reply to your request. They are not published or added to marketing lists.
  • Accounts. If you register, we store your email address and a hash of your password (never the password itself), plus the workspace data you create — saved layers, notes, tasks, favourites.
  • Technical data. Like most services, our servers log IP addresses and request metadata for security (rate limiting, abuse prevention) and troubleshooting. The application collects basic anonymous telemetry about errors and performance.

Cookies

We use a small number of first-party cookies and browser storage entries, all functional:

  • Session cookie — keeps you signed in to your account.
  • Visitor id — an anonymous identifier used for abuse prevention and basic usage counting.
  • Preferences — map style, language and similar settings, stored in your browser's local storage.

We do not set third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Third parties

The product displays content from external providers — news publishers, map tile services, satellite imagery (e.g. Sentinel-2, NASA), OpenStreetMap data. When your browser loads that content, those providers see a standard web request from your device. Our infrastructure runs on cloud hosting providers who process data on our behalf.

Retention and deletion

Account data is kept while your account is active. Contact-form messages are kept as long as needed to handle your request. To have your account or messages deleted, contact us through the contact form from the email you registered with — we'll confirm and remove the data.

If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and the date above.
